lil Wayne speaks about racism
Lil Wayne got a lot of attention in the last few weeks for making statements involving race and #BlackLivesMatter in recent interviews. During an interview with Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe, Wayne shared that he had “never dealt with racism”. In a ‘Nightline’ interview he questioned the #BlackLivesMatter movement saying that it “sounds weird” and he didn’t understand why there was a name on it.
There is new footage that has been released
that seems to be the same day as the ‘Nightline’ interview, he shares the story of when he accidentally shot himself when he was 12 years old. He told how the officer who helped him was white and that a black officer ignored the fact that he was hurt and began looking for drugs and a gun. He ends the story saying that is why he doesn’t know what racism is.
