Two men sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment over stealing government property

Pallelu Abdullahi and Bello Yakubu has been sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment over stealing solar energy panels. Abdullahi told the court in his plea for leniency that, "I stole because of my daughter's sickness".
However, the judge gave the convicts #12,000 fine,and ordered that the stolen federal government item should be returned in 30 days. The prosecutor further stated that the convicts were arrested on December,31 while on patrol at night.

The prosecutor also said that the offences were contrary, 98 287, 319(A) 327 of the penal code.
